B2B contract - how would you go about this situation?I've been lined up for a role which appears to be filling a temporary position in a public sector organisation for a short period of time.

Whilst the rate isn't great (some 30% lower than my last gig), the job itself would be a very very nice one to have on my CV, and I figured since I'm benched and it's only for ~4 months it would be silly not to go and do it.

I asked the agency today for a sample copy of their contract and they sent me a PAYE employment contract. I told them I was a limited company and could only do a B2B contract with them and would be invoicing them weekly (or whatever in the contract). They indicated they can do this, but said they don't have a 'standard contract' at hand to do it and would need to look into it.

How should I go about this, as I don't want to lose the opportunity, but equally I'm not prepared to 'go on their books' to get paid. Anyone found themselves in this position before? It seems the agency is the type who just 'umbrella' casual workers for gigs.

Also should I try and negotiate a higher rate in lieu of holiday/sick pay I would get under their PAYE contract? I'm feeling a bit cautious and not wanting to rock the boat too much given the current state of the market.Tags: None
