Interesting place
I worked in Sweden for 4 years as a permie. It is a beautiful place and I have many good Swedish friends and even a Swedish god-daughter. However, it was not a place that I could live indefinitely.....! Some things to consider are:
* Climate. Cold winters can be as low as -15C or -20C. The nights are long too with sunrise in stockholm around 9am and set at around 3pm. The summers are great since the reverse is true but can be so short.
* Culture. No always easy to adapt to. Suggest reading "Swedes as other people see them" by Jean Martin-Philipsson. Some examples: no conflict, decision by consensus.
* Economy. They like to think that social services are in abundance (in reality they are no better than here) and therefore charge high taxes. Its reality not a myth.
* Language. Swedish is relatively easy to pick up, especially if you know something like German. Its not essential for life in Sweden but you integrate better if you speak the language. We could learn from that......!!
* Red tape. There is lots of it in Sweden!
In summary, its a great place to spend some time but not suited to everyone!! Make sure you visit and research and give it some thought. If you still plan on giving it a try I will look up some sites for you and post later.

You can try http://www.ework.se/ework.htm, they've got info in English.Originally posted by panadolaww..crap
contacting Swedish companies for contracting roles? A bit difficult when I don't even know if they use Siebel/Seebeyond stuff....
Any other routes if this fails?
The following is for the an English version of the goverment agency that handles jobseekers http://www.ams.se/rdfs.asp?C1=223. Not that I think that they'd have any jobs, but they might answer questions.
There's www.monster.se also, but seems to be Swedish only.
Otherwise, you can also try the following search in google
"it sverige jobb konsult english"
Which seems to have some links that might be useful.

Just type "Sweden" and "contracts" or "jobs" and try and find something on the internet. When I said Swedish companies I meant Swedish agencies, simply because you hardly ever see a Swedish job offered on jobserve.
Out of interest I did actually do a search and found a Swedish site all in Swedish. To be honest if you don't speak Swedish it seems to me your chances are pretty dire.

aww..crapOriginally posted by BlasterBatesSweden has an IT job market roughly the size of Windemere Industrial Estate, so I imagine it is quite difficult.
My advice would be to find Swedish companies and contact them directly.
