    Agreed - but it doesn't mean IR35 doesn't apply. Due diligence is still required, but you can be a lot more relaxed about it

    The basic behind what he was saying was that part of their aim ws to get revenue and target the "easier & potentially more lucrative" cases. In that case - doing 1 & 2 week contracts does NOT make you an easy case.

    Probably not. But if you are going to be doing many more short-haul gigs, it might be worth learning how to do the basic assessments yourself and challenge anything that looks marginal. Careful study of the PCG's guide to IR35 should give you enough ammo for an informed decision.

    is it honestly worth it? what would be the outlay? what would be the difference where you to be consider inside by the IR when you thought you were outside?

    Personally, I wouldn't bother. IR35 investigations are contract based, so even if it was pulled up, the actual tax owing (assuming you were found inside IR35) will be minimal.
