    Don't worry too much; as long as they can identify what it's for it'll be fine.

    If it represents a period of time then you should definitely specify that. You don't want any mix ups as to when they've paid up to.

    If they want a breakdown then that goes on a separate sheet

    Quick question about an invoice

    Hello - I need to draw up an invoice for some work I've been doing over the past few months for a client. It hasn't been 9-5 stuff, just working when I've got the spare time but now I need to invoice them for what I've done.

    For my usual contracts, I just do a daily rate and days worked thing but for this I can't really do that.

    Is it ok just to put somthing like "development of product" or something like that? And do I need to include the dates worked or just date it as today?
