Are any of you guys who are working for Elan/BT due for renewal soon?
Me and the other contractors I work with are and when we've all asked for a rate rise(a well deserved one we think). We've been told that BT have put a rate freeze in place and there's no chance.
I know the current climate isn't that good but I aren't buying it and has anyone else been fed this line?

Why not ask Elan to send you a disclosure for all their staff before you send over all the info needed to clone your identity. How do you know that there isn't somebody there harvesting all the info as it comes in, complete with all the background ifo such as working history and education details.Originally posted by HairyArsedBloke View Postwhat ... They wont like it.

Me too, but considering the contract I'm working on, sort of understandable.Originally posted by Sausage Surprise View PostElan also made me apply for a Disclosure certificate (Cost of £20) for the gig that I'm on.

Also not had any problems getting paid on time by them, quite unnerving really...

what ... ALL the details of every conviction I have.... details of an individual's criminal convictions (and in the case of Enhanced Disclosures, where appropriate, non-conviction information) or state that they have none.

Is one now presumed to have criminal convictions unless one proves otherwise?Disclosure Scotland issues certificates - known as "Disclosures" - which give details of an individual's criminal convictions (and in the case of Enhanced Disclosures, where appropriate, non-conviction information) or state that they have none.

Just tell them your bank details will be on the bottom of your first invoice

This seems to be standard for elan - they did it for me, but because i'm going through an umbrella i just sent them copy of passport, refrences and CRB stuff, then gave them the name of my umbrella. To be honest i can understand the ID thing, the limited company stuff and the CRB, but i don't see why they would need NI numbers (i didn't give them mine) and company bank statements, since the limited company dosuments should do as proof.
Personally i think it will be a senior manager at imposing a process on their staff wihtout a full understnading of what is actually needed.

This thread?Originally posted by r0bly0ns View PostSomebody posted on here a while ago stating that their bank had told them that not to do it, and if they did send this information to the agent then the bank would no longer cover them for any fraud that occured on the account.
Do a search for it.
and Elan also feature here.
Oh, here's Jobserve's standard warning when you look at the details of any position.
If you found the position through Jobserve, then report the buggersWe strongly recommend that you should never provide your bank account details to an advertiser during the job application process. Should you receive a request of this nature please contact support giving the advertiser's name and job reference.
My latest do with Elan involved reference fishing and on applying for a position they advertise the full year round was told the client only starts new folks two times a year.
Everything from Elan is now ignored here. They have been a total waste of space for me.
