I'm geting tired of plugging in USB drives all the time and am looking for something that can just sit on a shelf I can use wireless.

The Apple TimeCapsule looks a good bet....it has some good features and you can bet it will be quiet and fast.

Mine didn't, I have Norton Ghost 9 which does incremental backups.

I've got a 1.6TB Buffalo TeraStation NAS which sits in the loft. No WiFi built in but its on the network which has a wireless router on it, so is available wirelessly. Great product, very reliable (so far) and you can hack the embedded linux on it to add functionality, e.g. ssh server. Recommended.

I would go with Western Digital every time. Have been using them for about five years now and only ever had a problem with 1 HD (I have about 20 drives I think). RMA was as easy as log onto the website, enter seriel number, print off freepost postage label and stick it in the post. Replacement drive arrived 2 days later.

Can't beat that for service!!

I bought a brace of 750Gb Western Digital External USB drives for media storage for about £150. Very happy with them.

This probably should be in technical rather than here, but....

Western Digital, Lacie, or Buffalo are all good in my experience.

Depends on how big you want it, whether you want RAID etc. etc. - I have a Buffalo and a Lacie (160GB and 210GB) for general use, and a WD 1.5TB for backing up my work desktop. WD was the cheapest for a 1.5TB drive, which is what I need.
