Prince 2 is not just IT, its a methodology that be used for anything.

Foundation is also aimed at those who need an overview / work in an area that uses P2.

Practitioner is for PMs and the people running the projects.

NHS sends lots indeed. Whether they actually need it or not.

My Mrs in that boat. She's an IT manager though.

Wait? When I did the exam they told you on the same day! 20 mins after the exam passed.

I'll place money on all the ladies being either public sector (nhs [they send lots], hmrc etc) or charities. If they are all ditsy and tulip then this confirms it.

    Guys,

Thanks very much for all responses, you guys were very helpful..

    Abt Exam...
Not sure...will have to wait & see the outcome. I did around 3 hrs preparation on the night b4 exam. But in that 3 hour I gone through all processes well & glanced on all objects related..I have 2 years project mgmt experience, not PRINCE2 though

Out of 75, I got 10 definite correct answers, another 15 with 50% chance to be right..Honestly I found 1 hour time not good enough to have a relook at questions.

But again one question I have is ...I was bit surprised set of people came for the exam. All young people more than 50% ladies..!! Not sure why all these guys are interested in PRINCE2..? Not many were from IT background as well. Now I am just wondering what kind of people take PRINCE2 foundation..? I thought it was taken mainly by IT Project managers. But what I saw is large number of non IT staff (& ladies)taking this exam..! Any on have any idea why these guys are interested in PRINCE2..?? Is there any non IT job (non white collar..!) role need PRINCE2 certification..?

Again Thanks for all your help....I will update outcome next week...Fingers crossed...

I reckon you can wing the Foundation if you've a reasonable grounding in good Project Management practice - and if you've read through the book even at a farily cursory level it shouldn't be too challenging

The Practioner exam is a different animal altogether however, you really do need to know your stuff - PRINCE2 and practical knowledge - to have any hope of passing that

It's pretty difficult to not pass the Foundation.

The Practitioner is rather more challenging.

Foundation exam is pretty straight forward. It's multiple choice and you only need 50% to pass. You could probably scrape through knowing nothing about PRINCE2 just by applying a bit of common sense and logic.

If you learn all the processes, components and which documents are used by which processes you'll walk it.

    OK, so ....

    1. Have you actually done any project management in a structured environment ?

    2. Have you actually seen or produced any of the PRINCE2 products - eg. a PID ?

    3. Can you remember the processes and their subprocesses and the way they flow ?

If so, then you'll pass. Remember that the 10% that don't pass are usually those that have real interest in project management or PRINCE2 but their firm sent them to do the exam to get on some contract or empty the training budget.

Why would you 'loose' (lose) £200 by getting less than 90% ? Have you been taking bets or something ?
