Excellent location too for shops, bars and restaurants.
    I love Valletta.

The asylum seekers are well away from the tourists, housed in freight containers.

Not true, the Grand Excelsior and Phoenicia both overlooking the Grand Harbour in Valletta are quite impressive and I've stayed in some beautiful air bnb apartments too
Hyatt Regency has recently opened in St Julians but haven't stayed there yet.

If Malta or Gibraltar is mentioned I automatically assume the contract is for a betting firm and reject the approach.

Accommodation in Malta is expensive. I have a mate who lives there (last 7 years) and is currently working in gaming. It's a young persons game - daft hours, tulip money but it's a laugh and an experience.

Malta is a weird country mate, I did a few months there, I wouldn't again.

But, every once in a while I’ll take one of these kinds of roles that involve working in a slightly more exotic location. Just because.
Depending on the duration, it's not a bad place to be for a few months if you've got the right kind of passport that allows you stay.

Whilst I wouldn't mind accommodation being provided, it would need to be of a decent standard, I wouldn't want to be forced to share with anyone and would want to be sure that outside of normal working hours I will be left alone.
