Agreed. The market at the moment is quiet as people really are just starting to get back into the office and putting contracts out for tender.
I've had more interest over the last few days than the last 2 weeks. All the agents I spoke to even said that December was a slow month but it is picking up now.

 Mushtaq,

if ur happy with the contract particulars - rate, location, role etc - then why not accept it?

If you believe the market is buoyant and there is something better for you out there, hold on for a while longer.

It's a personal choice after all. Good luck!

New contractI finished my last contract just before Christmas and decided not to start looking again until the new year for a variety of reasons.

Last week I had decided to focus on some MyCo stuff and personal business things before starting the search. During that week a couple of my contacts got in touch regarding a new contract. Got past the telephone interview with the client and now doing a face to face tomorrow. I have also started searching properly now.

Question is: should I take the first contract that is offered or should I hold out to see what else is out there? What do most people do? I guess, like most business, it depends on the state of the market which, on initial inspection, looks quite good at the moment. It's all a gamble.
