As NLUK said you need to get a contract lawyer involved.

Even though the split is amicable at the moment, your current agreement may not actually include in your ex-partner's mind the fact that any employees or subcontractors you used in the old company can become part of your new company.

People end up in court for a lot less so get it nailed down now in a legal document.

There isn't a lot of detail here and most of us just run a straight one man band so probably not many people that have (had) your set up and even less that have hit this problem.

Could you not maybe ask you accountant for recommendations what to do and also maybe see if you can get a consultation with a contract lawyer? I would have thought if someone has screwed you over you would want to lock this one down so he can't do anything else so just a template may not be the right way to go?

  • Help re transferring a contractor from one of my ltd companies to another

I recently split with my business partner (he done the dirty on me whilst I was away on a family holiday but that's a story for another day!!!) part of the separation was I would keep the existing contract base and company name (nothing to write home about but a bit of steady income). I am dealing with a company who have asked me to provide them with a formal document transferring a contractor from the old company to my new company. I have set up a new company but still trading with the old name (all of which has been agreed between myself and ex business partner).
Unfortunately my ex business partner done most of the contract work so my knowledge is limited. Can anyone point me in the direction as to where I can find templates for a transfer of contracts from one limited company to another? Thanks in advance Mick
