I have SC clearance and asked the security department how long it would remain valid if I left the place of work.

12 months was the answer. I can't see an address change making any difference. The new outfit should approach your old security office with your name and DoB to verify the clearance.

They should still hold your clearance though so ring them and and ask them? I can't believe moving address makes you any more of a security threat.

You won't find anything on reasons why SC works. Wouldn't be much of a process if everyone knew how it worked so they could play it.

    SC Clearance

    Hey,

I'm just starting out in the contract world but have a question about SC Clearance. I had it from my last employer who I left 6 months ago and during that time I've moved house. Does anyone know if that would invalidate my clearance at all and if so, would I be able to get it updated via my previous company? I'm guessing not as I know longer work for them then they'd no longer be my sponsor.

From what I've read so far though, I can't find out a definitive answer on whether or not it would invalidate the clearance and so has anyone else been in the same situation at all?

    Thanks!

Working...
