But I think its fair to say most agents assume that if its offered to you then you're taking it. If you then decide not to they get really wassed off.
They don't realise that the clients offer is just the first stage of possible business. i.e. the start of contract negotiations. And nothing is agreed until its agreed.

You can, I have done just that. Only once has a contract come back from a QDOS review with a 100% thumbs up (and that was a direct one), In all other cases there were one or more issues which meant that I have had to re-negotiate the terms (clue, thats your get out clause if you need it).

A role that hasn't been offered yet is more likely not to materialise than it is to materialise, and no you can't accept offers and then leave them hanging a week while you get it reviewed because if it's serious you will be asked what was wrong with the contract and you won't have an answer, so you may as well be honest.
When the offer comes in make your decision.

I've actually had contract disagreements with agents that can't be resolved so have had to take up a least preferred offer.
Thanks for the replies! One was guaranteed but substantially lower than the others, one of which was offered to me and I accepted today.
