No idea but if they don't consider driving convictions as a risk then I don't see why they should. You will come out either innocent or with a conviction that they don't care about so why would they?

Just stick it in and worry about anything when it goes wrong.

Your car will likely require a new owner, since your licence will be invalidated and you'll have to retake your test, so unless you have very deep pockets for the insurance, you are in da poop!

SC Clearance. Just go through the motions and apply for it. If you get it, you get it? Chances are that if you apply and answer the questions honestly, you'll get it.

Apply openly together with the supporting documentation of your appeal. While some vetters are pen pushers, others may take this into account when assessing your situation.

Police is a little different to IT banking so won't be doing yourself and favours taking their guidance. As it says in the sticky they are trying to find out if you a security risk and a driving offense doesn't really indicate that to banks.

Bottom line is youve got to apply honestly and see what happens.

I read these 37 pages believe me ( but i might had missed few of them) you are the top contributor

I was reading police vetting guidlines and they all have this as mandatory rejection..

is it only limited to Police forces than ?

IMO you ought to fail your clearance for not being able to spot a 37 page stickied thread at the top of this very forum asking you to read it first before posting

Driving convictions don't generally affect SC, that thread will explain why.

I presume you are going to lose your licence if you rack up 6 points so soon. On the face of it you'd think it would be very unfair of them to pursue this if you were acting in good faith and the garage was at fault but I expect the devil will be in the details and your paperwork will mention this fact so the onus is on you. Tough call.

I have a firm Permanent offer but this require SC clearance ( Job is not for Police/Mod/ etc but for IT/Banking related company).

3 months ago i passed driving test and next day went to buy a used car from a dealer.
He sold me the car with driveway insurance.
on my way home i was stopped by the police and was told there is no valid insurance for the vehicle (Dealer later on confirmed that due to me just passed the test driveway insurance was not valid and his insurance company only offer driveaway if you had license for at least 6month -

When i was paying he told me that i have insurance to drive home.(i Think he was sure that he will get this for me but later on when declined by insurance company he failed to inform me as i would have walked out without sale)

Long story short i got 6 points and i am planning to go to court so that i can ask for special reason not to endorse

I know you will be thinking how dumb I was I did not ask for documentation etc
I was a new driver never bought/had the car in my life , was concerned how I will drive at my own first time and made a costly mistake by just believing

Now what are my chances to get SC clearance? ( I will mention/disclose this surely on the form)

I have also read somewhere pending conviction will put the SC on hold ?
