I would rather stay in the EU than just be in the customs union, I doubt it will ever happen. It's literally the worst possible outcome.

Agreed the idea of a world super power being subservient to the e.u. rules and having no democratic vote is an utter farcical situation to be in, not as stupid as no deal but close.

Staying in the Customs Union will respect the referendum, and is the least worst option. Staying in the EU is a no no.

It will then stand as a political monument to Brexit for at least a generation.

So it looks like Brexit will be delivered, but with us remaining in the customs union, which is a separate trade arrangement to the e.u. and fully delivers Brexit minus the unicorns. However it's making Mogg, Boris and Farage look even more irrelevant as they are still spouting the we want unicorns nonsense with no credible plan to deliver it (no deal is not a plan as they have the Brexiters told us during the campaign, we hold all the cards it's the easiest deal in history etc etc).
