    An interesting cricket analogy for you.

    A backstop in cricket might be a fielder placed behind the wicket keeper to prevent the ball crossing the boundary, should the wicket keeper fail to catch the ball, and LEAVE the field of play.

    An interesting choice of words to call the Irish solution a BACKSTOP agreement.
