Great initiative, can't see the EU granting it because there would be little left of their political project if Brexit succeeds.

I note there are ~ 60% signed up in the UK but about 1-4% in other countries.

Perhaps of interest for our U.K. brethren based in the EU, a European Citizen’s Initiative to put before the EP:

Similar to a petition in the U.K., requires 1 million signatures from at least 7 different member states.
