EU Trade regulations don't include defense / military sales.
Issues of Defense and Military activities remain under full control of the sovereign states.
How else do you think BAE gets to sell military hardware to the UAE/Saudi etc.

I think the more of Merkel's tit you can get into your mouth the more (or less depending on your point of view) equal you will be.
