Indeed the chickens are coming home to roost as Benny so rightly points out. Mark Carney has been fearing of late this could spark inflation just when Britain doesn't need it. Wage rises as a result of labour shortages is the prelude to a recession. The rest of Europe is earning its above inflation wage increases with productivity increases. In economics there is famously no such thing as a free lunch.

Chickens coming home to roost
One of Telford's biggest employers has announced plans to hand its staff an inflation-busting pay rise as it looks to tackle labour shortages in the wake of the Brexit vote.
