on the subject of the taking a cheap certification somewhere like in Barcellona would this still work if you did the course on say the first but your return flight wasn't till the 14th?

We did this once for a company xmas do in paris.

But then we did have a customer in paris and half our staff (4 people) were working there. We arranged our regular progress meeting which got another couple of people out there for a good reason and then it was cheaper for the rest of us to fly out than have a do in london.

But to try and shove a holiday through ? No chance.

You might try looking for a cheap training course in the appropriate location. There used to be an organisation doing cheap/free security certification in Barcelona. Cant remember the details.

You can claim anything you like. Whether or not you go to jail for it afterwards is up to the courts.
