Everyone has to earn a living!

5% is pretty standard in our industry, but depending on the amount you may be able to get it slightly lower.

One word of warning, in debt recovery like many other fields you pay peanuts and you will get monkeys. Do you want the cheapest company you can find to chase your client?

That's right chase up via letters, a reminder, followed by a stern reminder, followed by a threat of legal action, and then lodge with the small claims court or go through debt collection.

I've found that sending a letter Royal Mail "Signed For" to the director of the company you are chasing puts a rocket up someone's arse and it gets sorted pretty quick. Your mileage may vary.

If you want to get a proper solicitor's letter check out these guys who say they will send a letter before action to your client for £2 + vat.

I'm sure there are lots of others out there who are happy to do one for a few quid.
