The point of proper brokers is that they can talk to insurance companies and even underwriters to get a package that matches your exact requirements. So it's always worth getting a quote from them even if you don't end up using them.

    Business contents insurance for mixed-use?

    Hi all,

Having a bit of a nightmare so far finding someone who can offer me business contents insurance. 95% of my revenue comes from IT consultancy work, so I need office/computer/related contents insurance, but a small percentage of my income comes from electronics design work. I need the additional test/bench/scientific equipment in my new business premises covered in a similar way to the office contents.

So far i've spoken to AXA and Hiscox, both referred me to some other brokers, neither of which has come up with anything suitable yet.

    Any recommendations or advice?

    Thanks
Working...
