Assuming you want a company web page, it's also worth checking domain availability (and buy it first!).

However if you use a name that is associated with another company particularly if they are large or in the same sector, then expect a letter from a solicitor asking you to stop using it with a threat of legal action.
Plus on all your communications you have to put "ABC Information Technology limited Trading As ABC IT limited".

Remember though you cannot use trademarked names in your name. You cannot be ABC Sap Ltd or Microsoft Consultants Ltd.
Apart from wanting to do that I can't see the name particularly matters?
If the number plate on your car is AG60 FGH why not call your company that and you get a free personalised plate thrown in for free
Thanks for your help

Company Name
Hi Everyone.
I need to create a new limited company and have thought of a name i would like to use. The problem is that the company name is already registered.
My question is this.
The company name i would like is (for example) ABC IT limited which is already taken however ABD Information Technology limited is not.
On company communications etc can i refer to my self as ABC IT Limited or would i have to use ABD Information Technology limited???
I probably know the answer but thought i better check.
Thanks
