Administrator
Sorry, just read your note.
My intention is to always suggest seeking sound professional advice and I did not mean to promote myself.
I will be more careful in my wording in furture.
Thanks

DIY?
Are you sure you are happy to do all of this yourself?
I accept that PAYE, VAT etc. should be achievable but are you happy that you can prepare accounts for a limited company in a format acceptable to Companies House and HMRC and that you wil be able to comply with submitting those accounts, tax computations and the company's Corporation Tax return in the new iXBRL format.
The HMRC software can cope with fairly straightforward accounts but for anything more complicated you need third party software.
We offer clients fixed monthly fees and clients are offered a price based on what they select from our "menu" of services, so they are free to do whatever they want themselves and leave anything they are uncomfortable with to us.
A decent firm will also help you to minimise your exposure to tax so that effectively, the tax they save you will at least go some way to paying for their fees.
<admin note>Please familiarise yourself with the forum terms and conditions. Advice is good and will be well received, pushing your services will not.</admin note>

You'd usually use a 64-8 form (or online Gateway) to notify HMRC that you're authorising an agent, but there's no need to do so if you're carrying out all the work yourself.
There's no need to use an accountant at all if you're happy you can do it all yourself.

Notifying HMRC of Accountant
Do I have to notify HMRC which accountant I use for VAT, PAYE, Company Accounts. In particular, if I choose to prepare my accounts myself (DIY accounting) do I have to inform HMRC?Tags: None
