I did mine yesterday. The VAT one is easy; try the CT form if you really want to be confused. I spent ages scratching my head with it telling me I had to fill in two mandatory fields, except the fields it was highlighting as mandatory were read only.

I've always found it very easy to use. I also like the extra month the cash sits in my account.

I totally hate the 'not-so' single sign on government gateway system.
I had to reset a password once on HMRC site, but I could only reset it on the DVLA site where it was issued. Hopefully they've fixed that one now.

Also due a similar not-so centralised nature of the system (this was about 4-5 years ago mind), it managed to issue me with more than one ID and passoword combo by using different .gov.uk sites.

Odd and completely unintuitive... or maybe I just wait till too late at night to properly concentrate on it!

Just wondering how come you're not registering? Surely there's good money to be made from the FRS?

I used to find putting the right password in worked for me! But the rest of your comments I agree with. Thankfully, this time Im refraining from registering for VAT until I start nudging the threshold.
