If you are on FRS it is quite easy to do yourself but tell you accountant you need the figures for end of month so they have time to prepare. It won't take too long to do and you should anyway be able to do it yourself, asking your accountant to have a quick scan through before submitting.

    They have.

You can check by calling them and asking them to confirm the account number and sort code the payee is setup for against the (new) details you have for the payee.

I did this when HMRC's VAT bank account details changed in the summer just to be sure HSBC had made the relevant changes.

It is a pain that you can't check this on line though.

I do it myself. Did when I was on the VAT Cash Accounting scheme. No point paying the accountant £75 +VAT to complete a piss easy return.

I had to pay my last lot of VAT via the HMRC website because HSBC hadn't updated their details and don't let you delete or amend payees.

I think there the only online banking I've used so far with this stupid rule.

joey122 ask your accountant how to do your VAT and do it yourself it's not very hard as regardless of who does it, you are responsible for it as the director of your LtdCo. If you get stuck (or forget) ring HMRC and they will tell you how to do it, and finally if you can bothered to look there are instructions of how to do a VAT return online.

Might be worth a quick call to check. If you've got a payment already set up, I'd delete it and create a new one - in fact with Abbey you can't change the payment (despite their being an option to do it!)
