It can be done but it's not a good idea.

As has been said - if you pay for it yourself any training must be related to your current role/work.

Your company can pay for a future role, but even that needs to be quite close to what you're doing now.

As long as the training is directlyrelated to your work and required to do your job then all good. Quite a few people have asked about charging MBA costs back to company and that is no allowed from what I remember.

Corrected you a little there A Java developer going on a Struts course would be OK. The Revenue are unlikely to approve of a DBA taking a PRINCE2 course, although you never know your luck. Funding a degree from the company is right out.

training costs should normally be retrievable under "expenses" in the training & professional subscriptions category, not too sure about travel though.

I don't have a business credit card and tend to personally pay for my expenses and reclaim them.

Can I take this approach with training expenses as well?

Also, can I expense travel costs to/from to the course?

Need to sign up to a course in the next hour which is running next week so would appreciate a quick response from anyone who knows.
