Most banks nowdays do a full vetting procedure asking for full 5 year employment/contracting history asking for details of Manager, Company HR and agency. I got subjected to this recently, then wanted personal references for any time over 3 months spent out of work. I didn't comply, I lost the contract. Lesson learned. I will comply next time

Some usual bollocks spoke or rather written here. It'll be the client and its preferred supplier arrangement.

Current client moved to its PSL only agent sometime ago. We were all asked to provide 5 years references etc. I told them I wouldnt be providing this and they seem to have given up on it.

However, the client co keeps badgering me for my NINO and I keep ignoring them. About 3 of their requests ago, they said it was mandatory for me to supply it. I havent and Im still on site (for the time being!)

    I disagree.

If I were illegally working in the UK through a UK ltd company, then it wold be that company that would get the fine, not the agency.

Don't forget that and agency is just my companies client and nothing more....

Tell them it doesn't apply to you as your not employed but contracting for the client.

I seem to remember something about it being a way of proving that you are a British / EU citizen / entitled to work in the UK.

    Or just comply.....?

Any old bobshwaddi can set up a company and run it as a one man band to provide services to end clients. Nobody else are going to check us are they. They all know we`re one man bands

So when you get offered a SC cleared job and they ask for certain details, you going to reject that also, stating that your company won`t give out personal details. I think not.

It is a bit odd they are asking for it now but just do it. Cut the BS and give `em what they want.....along with 2 references

It sounds like your agency is doing an audit, a couple of years after all the others.

If you are working through a Limited Company write a letter on your company headed paper stating that you have had sight of the required documents and can verify and warrant all staff are who they say they are and are entitled to work in the UK.

You're not an employee, so no need to comply. If you did comply, Hector would be after you.
