I talked to HMRC after receiving a repayment cheque six months after closing down a Ltd all I had to do was return the cheque with a covering letter explaining the situation and that I was the sole shareholder and would they make out a new cheque. It took a few weeks but now I have the cash.

I also did this with more than one cheque, though it was several years ago now. I doubt you will have any problem with this.

vat repayment but company closed down?

Hi

Wondering if anyone can help me? I have receives a hefty overpayment of VAT but i have closed the company down. Is there anything i can do to reclaim this back?
