    Lurker.

And Sweden does have some tax concessions for people they consider to have specialist skills but the tax rate is still higher than the UK, but then again you will have a better standard of living.

It makes no difference. You have to register in Sweden and pay the appropriate Swedish Tax on your income if your stay there is > 6 months.
If it's less than 6 months, you would continue to pay tax in your home country, but I guess you know this anyway?
Likewise, if you're an employee of a company outside Sweden with a placement for you in Sweden, you pay tax on the income you receive from your employer.

If you're an independant contractor, it's recommended you speak to a professional accountant and they'll explain how it works.

There's no such thing as 'tax scams' so commonly bragged about on these threads, and some have allegedly been placed on these chat forums by the suspicious authorities themselves.

In fact............. your thread is equally suspicious. Why would anyone ask for advise of such an important issue from a bunch of complete strangers?

    Offer in Sweden

    Hello all,

I have an offer to work in Sweden as a contractor. I have been checking the swedish taxation and it is extremely high. What should I choose: a Limited Company or an Umbrella company? I am a first timer and I am not sure what option is better.

    Thanks in advance.
