    Hi Robot,

I've left it blank, as my dividends income is specified in the dividends section. I've received dividends from a company yes, my company, and as far as I know I'm not a "Service Company".

Well I've finished it all, and it turns out they owe ME £472! Nice one, I feel like I've been paid for the amount of time it took to fill in hehe,

Apologies if this is obvious, but I'm an employee of my Limited Company, I pay a minimal monthly salary and top up with dividends when I need to.

Question is, on the Online HMRC form I put "Self Employed" and now it's asking me:

You said that you were self-employed in the tax year 2007-08. Please complete the following question(s).

The information to help you complete this section can be found in your profit or loss accounts, records of business receipts and business expenses.

Did you have an annual turnover of £64,000 or more? *Please selectYesNo
If no, did you have an annual turnover of less than £30,000?

    -- quote end --

Now I'm thinking I should put "Employee" instead, as surely the Self Assessment is to do with MYtax liability, so why is it asking about my "annual turnover".

If someone could please clarify, I couldn't find any info elsewhere on here.

    Many thanks,

    Rob
You are not Self-employed, you are (I presume) a Director and shareholder of your limited company. I wonder what you will answer when it gets to the service company question!
