It may be too late now, but PCG offer an insurance policy for this, I imagine others do as well. They will make it up to £300 per day which takes the sting out a bit.

They (the Scottish courts) will reimburse for loss of earnings up to £61 and change for the first ten days then it rises to £110 or thereabouts. I know this as I went through this the other week (luckily managed to get out of it)

They will have sent you a leaflet with the citation that gives you the exact amounts, failing that I think they are or a website somewhere, bit of Googling will find it.

Pretty sure it isnt the last from what I recall when my wife did it. But doesn't it tell you all that in the bumf they sent you?

Hi guys,

got a citation for jury service next week in Scotland. I get paid thru an umbrella company (so not self employed) - any ideas if I will only get a daily allowance or can I claim my full daily rate from the courts?
