Traditionally probably because of the spending power of the pound in comparison to almost any other currency.

Depends on which part, but it's about a 10 hour overnight flight with no time difference of course. So a Sunday overnight from JoBurg will get you into heathrow at 5 or 6.30 Monday morning and leave there at 6 or 8 of a Friday evening. 350 quid if you were flying this weekend. Obviously this is cheaper if you book in advance.

My brother-in-law lives in Cape Town and commutes to Geneva.. Works out about 17/18 days in Europe and 10 days in Cape Town.. ClientCo pays all hotels and flights and expenses and he still earns a wad of cash on top of it..

south of france is quite nice. old friend of mine works in a london IB (actually a US IB in london) and commutes from Nice. She works 3 days / week in the office, and monday and friday from home on the riviera. she's married to a froggie, and blockbooks her easycrash flights well in advance to save cash.
good job if you can get it.

Best country to live as a UK Contractor

So, if you were to choose a country to live in as a contractor, but still work in the UK (via weekly commute) where would you live?

Taking into consideration Tax benefits, cost of living, climate, etc?

Working...
