For people who are IR35 caught (believe it or not they do exist), only intending contracting for a short time or who simply don't want the hassle/responsibility of running a ltd, they're a decent solution. Obviously some umbrellas are better than others...

A chum of mine is looking to take a 4 month contract as an intermin thing. Woudln't go near them myself, but who is the generally recommended ubrella on the board nowadays? I guess the equiv of SJD or Nixon Williams, but for brollies.

Ive seen a few posts about a couple getting into trouble financially, so want an up to date opinion.
