There's a very simple answer to that.

    http://www.sjdaccountancy.com/

Their home page advertises the award this site gave them in 2007. As an extremely disatisfied customer, I've come here to find out what people are saying about them and (possibly) share my experiences, because I think it's only fair that potential customers should be aware if a company has provided poor service.

I am, however, going to follow up Simon's advice and mail him directly with our issues, which our local SJD office have thus far failed to deal with, and see if we get any further response.

I may be back, depending on what happens next.

Tay - I raised my issue with simon 4 months ago, solutions / promises were made , but I'm in the same situation. I think I'm entitled , having given the supplier 1st opportunity back in July - to say Im dissapointed with service.
I am not disputng your right to complain. I am disputing you saying you werent slinging mud, when you were. If you complain in a public forum, you can expect replies refuting your complaints.

I would not worry about enemies, no one on here matters except me, and I am not your enemy

I guess that means all the extra's will be going up too then. Rental reference, mortgage reference etc etc.

Incidentally, some of the other providers present here do this for free!!

I too have had bad experiences with SJD but I vote with my feet...

I also feel the need to defend SJD and make it clear this is no ruse, I'm a genuine customer (still I hope, despite our current disagreements) and have not in any way falsified anything on here. I would agree that saying anything other than "SJD is great" does seem to get a lot of attention here , if you search - it is also said quite rarely (as my OP mentioned).

Right I'm really out of here now, before I make myself even more enemies

I notice that NW post a lot here and is not subject to the same level of debate
Perhaps they should get someone to post a 'constructive compliant' and this will then raise their profile as well!

Lets be amicable please. In fact, the poster hit the nail on the head - lack of contact has been my issue really, or more precisely the need to escalate to get an answer / progress made.

I'm leaving this thread as it's not of benefit to either of us and I'm not going to rise to mud slinging.

I don't want our relationship to go any further down the pan here - I've got a business registered to your address and am planning on going overseas in 4 months - I have no option to change, so I just live with the service and posted here to say its not quite as good as some posts would have you believe.
I am not surprised you dont want to escalate it.... you have been shown up as a whinger. You complain, get offered a solution... and then complain some more. Get a grip.

Your posts was mud slinging. I have slung mud at SJD in this thread as well (too expensive) . But you made negative comments about a company and then whine when they defend themselves..... yeah you are right.. back off before you look more silly.

Maybe, but the point is there are probably 6 people complaining about SJD which means there are 7994 who aren't. I've used them for years and they do the job as well as any other supplier, no better, no worse, and I have had to remind them occasionally that they've not been too tiimely.

But since it's only the upset ones who post, that's biasing the overall picture quite badly. Complaints are only of value in the public domain if the supplier has failed to recitfy the problem. Since it seem there is one in Scotland, you would be doing everyone a favour to tell the supplier first. Otherwise all you are acheiving is marking down a supplier for no good reason.

I'm with sjd in scotland and seriously thinking of moving. very slow to respond, only half answered emails and worst of all my self assessment form had a typo which would have told IR i had paid 3k less tax than i had! no apology when i pointed it out.....just 'oh its a typo'. thankfully i spotted it before it went to the IR.

    Interesting thread.

I'm with SJD and have been for around 4 months and have no real issues except that I'd like them to be a little more pro-active, but understand for circa £100 a month my expectations are unrealistic.

If SJD would offer a tiered service offering that allowed client expectations to be met regardless of what they are, that would make a lot mores sense, wouldn't it? I'd pay £200 a month for a more proactive, personal approach for sure.

No, DO tell us. We're the ones that shop around for accountants and want to know if, for example, one of the high-profile big names are pants at getting back to people. Surely that's exactly what Contractor UK is all about?
