Posted my VAT Registration to the accountant two weeks ago. Certificate and registration number were awaiting me on getting home yesterday. Registration date was Tuesday 13th so it took them less than a week, when you think it had to get to accountant and them him post it on.

With the work from home thing tell them you are based there until your co has the funds and work to justify expensing and office which is also the reason you need the VAT number

Anti VAT fraud questions. Standard. Send them a copy of your contract, and wait quite a few months.

VAT Irrelevant questions!!!!
Just wondered how other contractors had answered the "VAT Registration Reply" form. I have nothing to hide but I do not want to give answers that provoke unnecessary interest and further questioning.
# Please provide copies of contracts for purchase and sales from major suppliers and customers.
*****(Do I provide copy of contract?)******
# We note that you have given your home address as the address of your principal place of business. Do you actually trade from home. If yes, please describe how you operate the business from home. If you do not trade from home, please give the full address of where the day-to-day activities of this business take place.
***(I have an office at home but I will obviously be sited at the office of the company I am providing consultancy services to. Do I say that I am based at home but will be working from various customer sites?)***
I am going to seek advise from my accountant but would be interested in hearing from some fellow contractors.
