Hi Simon (hopefully you are about),
I am more than a little unhappy with the services I have been recieving from SJD. I mentioned your guarantee to the SJD office I deal with but got a less than satisfactory reply.
How do I get in contact with you. i.e. what is your email address?
Thanks.

And thanks for the email - got that as you know.Originally posted by mbriody View PostThanks for the replies - love the Attenborough one :-)
Sounds like it'd be best to get the 1st year accounts out of the way. In the meantime I may well drop Simon an email with my concerns.
Am in the process of sorting things out for you.

Do you have to tell your bank? I remember putting down the accountant on my original business bank account application...

The timing may be a factor. If you appoint a new accountant now you will have to pay them for some of the work you have effectively paid for.
However, much may depend on how quickly your current accountants would transfer the papers, some are not quick, although I would not class SJD as one of these.

It's easy. Find a new accountant. Give them the name of your SJD contact. Wait a week. You will have a new accountant.
There is actually a statutory requirement that supports the process, so there shouldn't be any trouble and it's largely hands-off as far as you're concerned, especially with the SJDs of this world.
As an aside, I'm sure Simon Dolan would be interested in hearing why you're thinking of moving. Why not drop him a email?

How easy to change accountants?
I'm currently with SJD and for several reasons am thinking of moving elsewhere.
Is this quite a straightforward thing to do?
My company tax year runs to November so would it be better to get the first set of accounts out of the way or does it not really matter?
I've been told they are in the process of doing this year's self-assessment returns so I'd want to wait until that is done in any case.Tags: None
