And no SJD please. I'm sick of them.

    Cheers

And exactly what time did you make your post? Go on have a look, is it during office hours, is it?

    DUH!!

It's a contractor board, of course most of the posting occurs during office hours....

That maybe the case in other examples, but in my case I am a legit contractor looking for a good, and reasonably priced accountant. I registered with this forum to ask questions and seek opinion on what I know and what I have heard. It seems that anything said by anyone against SJD is jumped upon by numerous people ( mostly during office hours ) so it begs the question what is the point of posting anything if all you get is propaganda, abuse or threats of legal action.

I can't be bothered with this forum any more so I am going to go back to the old ways of using word of mouth and recommendations to get what I want, which is a good accountant for a reasonable price ( that's value for money not cheapness BTW )

I leave you all to squabble and shout at each from your self-righteous glass towers with a final word:

The British people are not ones to complain much. What tends to happen is they tell their friends not to use a company if they receive a bad service. In that way it may take longer to get round but the effects are usually much more damaging.

Bye, this forum has been a complete waste of time.

His point is reasonable. It might be 2 against the world now.

I can't say I ever visited the accountants regularly, but for me, and the way I work it was easier than the remote accountants I had previously used (not any of those frequenting here).

If you're that bothered, why don't you email or pm Simon?

Why do I charge what I charge? Because it maximises my profit.

    Quite true, I give up.

I’ve explained why I chose SJD, if you don’t like my reasons – I don’t care in the least.

I’m sure next year their prices will go up again just like everybody else’s, just as mine will (actually mine might go up twice). If companies choose not to increase their prices more fool them.

And if the people at SJD get paid more because they charge more, I’m quite happy about that too. I like working with successful people; people who are poorly paid are nearly always unhappy and continually bitch about how badly paid they are.

    Why do their costs matter?
Why are Sainsburys more expensive than Asda but cheaper than Fortnums?
Do you and the others spend your days on shopping web sites asking those questions?
If you don't want to pay Simons fees then don't use him (I recommend Darren).
Dont ask him to justify his fee! I probably couldnt justify my hourly rate either, but then again my clients are at liberty not to use me.
Similarly I am at liberty to laugh my cock off at them when the numpty they did use gets it wrong and I am called in (at a much inflated fee) to fix it.

[edit]Apologies for the crudeness of my answer but this stuff is getting tedious. Simon has offered time and again to enter into discussion with the disgruntled yet they seem to prefer to have a pop rather than do something practical.

    I had a problem.

Sorry I’m not an accountant and I can’t provide you with scenarios.
