Short answer is yes they can call HMRC and request for copies of the SA302 to be posted to you provided they have the authority to speak to them on your behalf. Should take anywhere between 2 days to 2 weeks depending on their mood.

They can call and they can try but whether they will get HMRC to go outside their scripted response remains to be seen.
Perhaps try calling HMRC to test your accountants response?
If you really don't trust your accountant then it might be time to change?

If they file using third party software, which is much more likely, then HMRC will not provide a SA302. Your accountant should instead provide you with a copy of the tax calculation that is normally produced alongside the return itself, backed up by a copy of the Tax Year Overview that your accountant can download from HMRC.
The Tax Year Overview should support the calculation by confirming the total amount of tax due, and that this tax has been paid.

Can accountant order SA302 for me?
My SJD accountant does calculations and is filing my self-assessment ( using their software, online)
For some paperwork abroad I need to prove my income and was requested SA302. Thus I've asked my accountant to contact HMRC asking to post the document ( to my home address, in the UK).
Accountant says that they can't request it from HMRC and I need to call HMRC myself
What is a Form SA302 and How Do You Get One from HMRC? - Clifford Towers - here it says that accountant should be able order it for me.
Can anyone please clarify if accountants can contact the HMRC on behalf of the clients to order the form?Last edited by Goggy; 14 March 2019, 16:13.Tags: None
