Consider putting some in peer-to-peer lending : about 3% at ratesetter at the moment, but obviously no FSCS protection available... Higher returns have greater risk.

I keep considerably more in FSCS protected savings than in Ratesetter...

It's negative interest rates here which isn't so great for bank interest, which actually end up 0% but nice on mortgages since you actually get paid for having a mortgage. Fees swallow it up but again it's 0%.

Aldermore seem to come top or near in most tables but a couple of others you can investigate if you want.

Need to move some money into another account to ensure deposit protection.
