I've never known a client experience regret at doing this; about 80% of our clients do so.

You are right, the history cannot be erased.

    Change address or not?

I'm a touch uncomfortable with my address being online. I can transfer that of my company and director address (as seen publicly at least) to my accountants. Is this a good or bad idea? Has anyone done it and regretted it? And, having set my company up at home originally, am I essentially unable to hide the address in my company's history anyway?
