Quite - if he was handing out tax advice to all the people that claim he is he would have retired to a tax haven on his yacht years agoOriginally posted by TheFaQQer View PostHis name certainly does. Whether he does, is a different matter

If they call back, could you ask whether they actually pay Mr Venables £25 per hour, or pay him £6.50 per hour and loan him the other £24,993.50 via a Trust, which presumably he would find more tax efficient.Originally posted by v8gaz View PostHad a spam text from Dynamic offering 'payroll solutions'. Next thing I'm getting a call from a chirpy sales girl wanting a chat. She decides that at my day rate she can offer 90% retention. I express my doubts about the UK tax rate being 10%, so she explains that I get paid minimum wage, and the rest is loans. I suggest that this may be a bit dodgy given the current HMRC interest in such schemes.
Aha, she says, ours is fully compliant and devised in conjunction with the UKs leading tax consultant.
That wouldn't be Mr Venables, would it?
yes it is, she says.
I suggested that Mr Venables is getting mighty peed off with cowboys using his name to promote their dodgy schemes. She tells me that they pay him 25k an hour for advice, and that he will confirm that they are a valid scheme.
Ok, says I, I'll call him then.
At which point she decides that she's now taken up too much of my time and that she'll leave it at that.
