The hearing is just one part of the tribunal. All the witness statements and evidence are prepared in advance. In this case there was a lot of evidence. During the hearing the counsel for each side present arguments which are backed by the evidence. The counsels for each side can cross examine witnesses...

The tribunal did not cover any test cases, even though HMRC have tried to claim it as such to protect their reputation. Any Boox test cases are stayed behind this debt transfer case.
The case relates to GLJ Enterprises, a small business that was shut down by its owner when this thing kicked off....

The clients were not carefully chosen. The whole tribunal was about debt transfer from GLJ Enterprises as Gareth had shut his business down. I volunteered as a witness as I had had extensive email exchanges with HMRC and had a lot of evidence based on that. As I was not an appellant but only a witness...
