I'm convinced I'm being haunted by Gordon Brown. Google

I was having a good morning until I googled: 6735s fan
    and clicked on images.
Page after page of HP laptops (admittedly not their fans though), and there on page 5 of the results is a picture of the grinning viper.

It's put me right off my breakfast.

(I was trying to work out in what order the 3* fan wires (blue, orange, red) go into the clip to motherboard.

    Overheating

Is your HP 6735s laptop overheating as well then? I'm about ready to put mine in the bin and buy a new one.

From what I've read there is a design flaw with the cooling system. Not sure I can be bothered to strip it all down just to clear out the fan, only to have to do it again in a few weeks.

Or is there any easier solution? This seems to be the best guide I've seen on how to dis-assemble the laptop:

Yes it was overheating. And yes I stripped it down as shown in the above web page, removed the clump of dust, reassembled the laptop, and bingo it fixed the problem. 3 hours it took me all together (around 20 screws). I wouldn't have thought the problem would come back in a matter of weeks. Months, maybe.

One potential solution is to get a can of high-pressure air and blow it into the vent from the side. This might work, but is not guarenteed to do so because the blockage is around 3cm inside the laptop, around a couple of shallow-angle bends. The design flaw is that the grills that conduit the air out from the fan are too narrow and get blocked by dust and clothing fibres. Maybe stick dust filters over the inlet areas of the laptop - don't know whether this would work.

Now all I have to do is erase the image of Gordon Brown from my mind. Not helped mind by the interview with Bill Gates I've just read in the Daily Telegraph where he says he admires Blair and the smug tw*t
