I suppose very few Australians understand the meaning of sarcasm..... -
Strata Managers – gotta luv ‘em.
I had a conversation like that when we were abroad several years ago. Ex-mrs HAB had gone into our strata manager offices to tell them that we were returning to England for an extended holiday (6 weeks). I got an e-mail from the manager (a rabid church lady) asking for precise dates and what arrangements I had made for bills, security, etc. I’d had a liquid lunch as replied that everything was going to be OK because I had arranged for some eastern European girls to condo sit for us. I added, “Don’t tell the mrs because she is convinced they are prostitutes and they want to establish a brothel” All hell broke loose. I went out without my cell so I could not reply to her e-mails or take her calls. She ended up tracking down my mrs and she went ballistic too. I got so much stick when I got back to the office.
Ex-mrs HAB thought it was hilarious in the end so I got away with it. However, I’d wish I had seen the bit when she got accosted in her place of work, by this woman in a manic state ranting on about the Lord Jesus and that Satan was coming to town.
The strata manager never spoke to me again; she’d only deal with the mrs. She was so happy when we sold the place the following year. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
