Originally posted by Pinto View PostWell, snap again! I'm converting an old shed (not exactly a shed, I think it's called a Wendy house), and building what I hope to be a fox proof meshed area (sides and top) so as to provide free-range accomodation. The mesh will be buried 2 feet deep, plus an extra foot going inwards. Let's see how fox proof that is!
I'm starting with 6 chickens, but the hen house will be able to accommodate 24. By the way, I know absolutely nothing about raising chickens
The fox will still dig at that. The best way to stop them is actually to cut a strip of wire mesh a foot wide, attach it to the base of the run laying on the ground facing out. The fox wants to dig at the edge of the run but can't and won't start digging 2 feet away to get under.
