        Well, I've been reading a thread on the 'Cornucopia Forum', in which some gardening type chap is asking about defending his cauliflower and broccoli from marauding slugs.

        One sadistic respondent suggests:
        I use salt water in the same way. They just float and die, it's bliss to watch.
