No - it was still alive. I accidentally microwaved it on full power for about 4 seconds, just long enough for it to do a quarter rotation on the turntable. It was trembling, with wide eyes and a sort of stunned look, when I took it out. The then gf (and owner of said hamster) went ballistic.

I don't think 4 seconds is enough to generate serious power from the magnetron...

In the late 80's, I had a mate John, he was dating a girl, going steady and planning an engagement party.
He used to take her dog out with him during the day for walks while she was in work.
He used to get to the park and hop over the wall, the dog jumping over.
When he got back to her house he used to open the car door and the dog would bound out and over the wall into the garden.
