there are cleaning products that will do it but assuming you're in the boardroom, don't have access to the the cleaning cupboard and have just written in bright red indelible pen all over the whiteboard... the best thing to do is to write over the indelible pen marks with delible (if that is the correct term) and then wipe...

sometimes you will be able to read the ghostly image of what was written before. sometimes this is because it doesn't really remove all the colour (leaving a greyish line) and sometimes because it really does (leaving a bright white line). still better than bright red though.
