I decided to ignore the online advice and just install it to the USB thingie as if it were a hard disk. Which worked (Knoppix, this time). However, it didn't have the right drivers to make my screen work (that took some working out) but I got a workaround to that. But it would not save my settings to the USB drive so I crated another partition on there to save them to, which works provided you remember to tell it so save them and remember to tell it to load them and even then it doesn't work properly. Also it doesn't always load so I have to sometimes have my BIOS settings one way and sometimes the other. And the drive has to be taken out between bootings and put back unless I want to go into Windows. So it sort of works, a bit.Originally posted by zeitghostWhat transpires on the pendrive linux front, old chap?

Get yourself a £200 hydrogen timing circuit thingy, a 5 metre radio telescope and a PC. Then with a bit of fourier transforming, you could be mapping the Milky Way in radio frequencies. Main issues are in data processing.Originally posted by NickFitz View PostGod, I'm bored.

The open mapping community are generating loads of free data about routes and locations in the UK. There is all sorts of opportunities there for making money ... and I believe you've done mashups before. (NB I am confident there is little demand for elephant mapping in Teddington.)Originally posted by NickFitz View PostGIVE ME SOMETHING CHALLENGING TO DO!!!
