I had downloaded an ISO image of the Ubuntu CD and put it on the USB dongle thingie.

All this faffing about with partitions on that resulted in the ISO being lost.

But that didn't matter, did it? After all, I had cut the CD.

Anyway, I decided in the wee small hours to give up trying to get this Ubuntu to work.

Instead I did a search for alternative options for Linux on my USB stick.
